Privacy Policy

Zen Convert is operated by an individual based in France. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect when you use https://zen-convert.com, why, and what your rights are under the GDPR.

1. What we collect

When you convert a file, we record :

• · Your IP address (logged with each conversion job)
• · Your browser's user-agent string
• · The original filename of your file
• · The source + target formats + file size
• · Timestamps (when the job was created, processed, completed)
• · The file itself, stored on encrypted Amazon S3 storage in Paris (eu-west-3)

We do NOT use cookies for tracking. We do NOT integrate Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party analytics that profiles individuals.

2. Why we collect it

• · To perform the conversion you requested (the file itself)
• · To detect abuse and prevent service overload (IP + user-agent)
• · To produce aggregate, non-personalized usage statistics

Lawful basis under GDPR : Article 6(1)(b) — necessary for the performance of the service you requested — for the file itself ; Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest — for the metadata.

3. How long we keep it

Converted files and the associated job metadata are retained on our servers for operational purposes. You can request manual deletion of any of your data by emailing privacy@zen-convert.com.

4. Who we share with

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to anyone. The only third party that has technical access to your files is Amazon Web Services (our hosting provider), under their data-processing agreement and GDPR-compliant infrastructure in France.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to :

• · Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
• · Object to processing
• · Receive your data in a portable format
• · Lodge a complaint with the CNIL (French data protection authority)

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@zen-convert.com. We respond within 30 days.

6. Security

All connections to Zen Convert use HTTPS. Files are stored on AWS S3 with server-side encryption. Database records are encrypted at rest.

7. Changes

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Major changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days.
